Maken no Daydreamer Chapter 51-53 part 3

Part 3/5. I will try to finish the other two parts by the end of this month, but stuff came up in real life so it might get slightly delayed. Same for the next chapter of Konjiki. We’ll see.
a little TLN: ‘Kodomo’ was written as ‘Child’ (in English letters) so I just reversed it and used the Japanese version instead to keep the same feel.

In any case, enjoy.

P.S. made a Discord so here’s the link if you feel like joining

Konjiki no Wordmaster Chapter 315

The final chapter of this week. From now on, it will be 1-2 chapters a week.
I’m considering to localise Crouch’s nyaa-speech to English, but for now I just left it be. Let me know what you think.
now for some changes:

I changed BiJohnny to Bea-Johnny. Since the Japanese 美(bi) part of his name stands for “Beautiful”, it feels weird to me to romanise it as BiJohnny and be obviously misinterpreted.
I also changed menols (or however it was TL’d before) to menels, since it’s an obvious pun on meters in Japanese (menoru and meetoru)

Konjiki no Wordmaster Chapter 314

Since I released another part for Daydreamer the next day, might as well do it for this too.
I will probably translate one or two chapters of Konjiki a week aside from what people sponsor. Probably be 1-2 parts a month for Daydreamer, starting from next month. This time, I’ll finish the chapter I started. Will see if I can speed it up later.

Now, for some changes…
I changed “Xaos” to “Chaos” as Xaos can be misread by English speakers, when it’s supposed to be the Greek word χάος (read as Khaos). Since Chaos is less likely to be misread and it’s simply the English version of the word, I decided to go with it instead. Let me know if you wish for me to change it back.

Now, as you know, Nikki sometimes speaks with a “~desu zo” sentence endings, but that doesn’t really mean much in Japanese, just a little weird/forceful sentence ending form. As such, I won’t make her speak overly weird way in English either, just a tad.

Well then, enjoy.

Konjiki no Wordmaster Chapter 313

I decided to pick up Konjiki after seeing that it had been dropped (yet again). Hopefully the curse will not affect me too. *prays*

*Cough* now regarding the TL… since most of the Konjiki translation is pure MTL gibberish, I’ve never really tried reading it beyond light skimming, and despairing over it so the terms I use might differ from the previous translators. If you have better versions to offer for names, terms, etc, I will consider them.

One more thing, I won’t be doing the weaboo translations on this like many of my Senpais did with this and will try my best to make the characters speak a bit more normal English instead of them sounding like retards. (ie: I won’t be using desu, nano, shishou and such clearly weeb words and will localise it as much as possible.)

with that said, hope you enjoy my translations.

Maken no Daydreamer Chapter 51-53 part 1

First things first, hello. You can call me Hikari.
I decided to give TLing Maken a shot, seeing that it’s been dead for years and it’s really a shame. As such, I decided to continue from where the last translator left it off years ago (as well as where the manga currently is). I’m aware that their website has been nuked, but a little google search can still dig up those chapters for anyone wanting to start from scratch.
That said, I’m still testing the waters with it, so I may or may not continue. At the very least, I plan to finish this batch of 3 gigantic chapters (like really, a whooping 40k characters in total) in parts. It’s a relatively shorter part this time (as it was more of a self-motivator), but I think I will divide this in 4-5 parts in total.

Anyway, what to expect from my translations of this or any other novel I may pick up:

1. I’m neither a native English speaker and nor do I have an editor, so there can and will be some awkward parts, typos and such. If you feel like pointing them out, however, I will be more than happy to fix.
2. My Japanese itself is decent (N2-1-ish), so I can somewhat guarantee the accuracy.
3. As it is a hassle to dig up the old terms, I will be mostly following the Manga terms. And in places, I will use my own versions.
4. I don’t have a set release rate so expect random updates, at least for a good while.

With that said, hope you enjoy the TL~
